Swimming at the lake

After an hour the canoes return

Which way are we going. The red canoe is paddling backwards. How do you know which way to row??

Mr Pat and Biggie are neck and neck with the scouts

The girl scouts keep pace with the boys

Panaramic View of the lake

After a wet start the canoe trip is fun

Saturday

After a chilly morning we decided to go to Heritage Manor Lake first. Hopefully it will warm up after the canoe trip. Biggie decides to show us the proper way to enter a canoe. The Troop 712 shutterbugs were not ready for this.

This is a picture that was taken while we were browsing the Jamboree. This is the Orange County Chopper National Guard theme bike. This is one of many sites that we visited in our one day excursion. Those who are attending should never be bored with all the activities they are offering.

Nick's Eagle Project is Underway!

It was a very hot, and messy, first day of Nick's project to build hummocks at Arlington Echo. Three down, seven to go. Thanks to all the Scouts and Friends who came to help!

Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox

How quickly Biggie has grown up. For many years he played the role of Babe the Blue Ox. Now he is Paul Bunyan. Thanks to Eddie for taking over where Biggie left off.

Camp Horseshoe Evening Retreat

In this time lapse video you can see our troop, beginning in the bottom left of the picture, address the camp and then march around the parade field.

Evening Retreat Salute

Here you can see our troop pass in front of the Camp Leadership while saluting. The formation is quite impressive.

Evening Retreat at Camp Horseshoe

If you have the time be sure to checkout the live webcam at Camp Horsehoe. It is positioned on the parade ground where the evening retreat is held at 5:45pm. The website is http://campermail.frogmn47.net/HSRcam.html. In this picture you can see the SPL making the evening announcment. "Troop 712, Severn, MD, 25 on Line, 4 on Staff Line, 5 on KP. Timberline Reporting, SIR!"
